What's the deal with this #PTD stuff? Read on, and learn...

Use is exactly the same as Synthrapol - 1/4 cup per washing machine load, rayon, hemp, etc. and 1/8 cup (1 oz) for silks or front loading wash machines. Best used with HOT (140°F or higher) water, both as a pre-wash to clean and prepare fabric for dyeing, get rid of fingerprints, oils, silk worm gum, and other things that cause the dye not to adhere well, and as an after-wash to get the excess dyes out. Also used, in the case of tie-dye, batik, or other situations where multiple colors are involved, to hold the dye out in suspension so it doesn't re-deposit where it isn't wanted. Gets out excess dye better and faster than normal household detergents so that items are safe to wash with others in the future. Is pH neutral like Synthrapol, so it discourages "setting" of loose Fiber Reactive dye particles where they are not wanted, and is easier on wool and silk than high pH detergents.

This detergent works best with HOT water, when washing out excess dye, particularly Fiber Reactive Dye. You are getting out the excess loose dye molecules that have not been chemically bonded to the fabric. This is a good thing! Then you can rest assured that the dye won't bleed on you, or the family underwear, the next time you wash it. Hot water is also best for the pre-washing we discussed above. Acid Dyes for wool and silk are a different story - hot water can actually break the bonds of the acid dye and cause more washout of color than you would want. Wash wools and silks dyed with Acid Dyes in cool to warm water.

I have a red and white quilt that had been washed turning the white parts pink. I used the product in hopes that it would remove the bleeding. The product worked great and the quilt looks brand new again!Erin

Seems to work fine even in my front-loading washer. Does produce a lot of bubbles so for front-loaders use just a tiny bit!

I don't like this nearly as well as Synthrapol. When I am washing out I get so much overdye that does not wash out like it does with the name brand one. I am so disappointed that a lot of my white portions of my tie dye are white when I untie and then pink when I take them out of the washer with this soap. I will not buy it again I'll just stick with the Synthrapol.

Not good for washing protein fiber that you need to dye later. Makes the fiber difficult to retain a color all the red tones show regardless of what color dye was used like black dyes end up a reddish brown! Compared side to side with Synthrapol I washed one batch of fiber with this textile detergent the other with Synthrapol then used the same dye batch. The fibers came out great as they were supposed to with synthrapol the other didn't absorb the dye the same so the color looks wrong. Going to stay with synthrapol it goes a lot further and gets the job done!

This soap is Not pH balanced like synthrapol. That Needs to be made known. There are no ingredients on the label to see that fact. It altered the colors of some pieces and removed colors on others that I washed after dyeing naturally. I see reviews that it washed color out of a persons natural dyed item so it wasn't just me as this happens with acids for some colors.
